Work out how many months of the normal subscription the one-time price buys. That number, not the percentage off, is what you are betting the vendor will outlast.
Whose lifetime it is
“Lifetime” means the lifetime of the product, not yours. If it shuts down or is acquired and folded in, the deal ends with it — which is why the vendor's age and funding matter more here than in any other purchase.
What the tier actually includes
Lifetime tiers are usually capped on the thing you will need most — seats, projects, contacts or sends. Check the cap against a year from now, not today, because upgrading later is rarely at deal prices.
The refund window
